The Hampshire Junior Girls’ Autumn Meeting took place at Peterfield Golf Club on Saturday 17th October and what a great end to the season it was.
The natural setting of Brokenhurst Manor Golf Club (BMGC) in the heart of the New Forest was looking spectacular for the opening event of the Justin Rose Ladies Series. The weather was looking good for the day and the classy field of 44 Professionals and 3 Amateur ladies were in for a treat as play started at 10:30am.
The excitement is mounting as the first event of the Justin Rose Ladies Series comes to Hampshire tomorrow at the lovely New Forest course of Brokenhurst Manor Golf Club (BMGC). The start sheet can be found here – and includes our own Hampshire Girls’ Squad coach Georgie Mundy, from Winchester Golf Academy.
The month of May saw a different talent emerging from our girls in Hampshire. With the lockdown still in place due to the Coronavirus pandemic, and it looking a while before getting out on the golf course again, we decided to try and keep spirits up and stay connected as a team, by setting a Golf Themed Bake Off challenge.
With the Covid-19 lockdown well and truly underway, it was obvious that our Hampshire girls were already missing the routine of regular coaching sessions, and it was therefore vital to ensure our girls stay connected, and remain focused on their fitness and wellbeing during this unusual time.
On 20th May, our girls were lucky enough to be included on a Q&A zoom session, with none other than Catriona Matthew and Paul Lawrie. Thanks to Kate Dymott, 10 places were secured, enough for all our Performance Squad to attend.

What better way to end the 2019 season than with a spot of Top Golf…and you’ll never guess who was in the next bay…only Dame Laura Davies!! Once Laura had finished on the range, she was kind enough to take a few photos with us all and took the time to find out more about the girls and how they were progressing. Kudos to Hannah Dymott for getting Dame Laura to do the infamous Hampshire pose!!
After heavy overnight rain, we were all thankful that our junior girls were met with glorious sunshine on the first tee at Meon Valley for this year’s Autumn Meeting. Fourteen girls from across the county gathered to take part in the final competition of what has been an excellent 2019 season.
A huge well done to all the girls who took part in the Junior Championship and Douglas Cup at Lee-on-the-Solent Golf Club on Sunday 14th July.
