The month of May saw a different talent emerging from our girls in Hampshire. With the lockdown still in place due to the Coronavirus pandemic, and it looking a while before getting out on the golf course again, we decided to try and keep spirits up and stay connected as a team, by setting a Golf Themed Bake Off challenge.
For those that were able to find baking essentials on their local supermarket shelves, and wanted to take a break from online schooling, it was great to see so many creative ideas, baked into cakes.
We saw nine excellent results, which the girls shared via our Hampshire Girls Facebook page. It was just a shame we couldn’t taste test them!
It was then over to our ladies in Hampshire to decide on a winner. A big thank you to all the ladies that took the time to vote. It was clear from all the comments that it was difficult to pick just one, however after tallying up the votes, it was Lily Walker’s cake, featuring a fondant version of our very own super-star coach Kevin Flynn, that emerged as the inaugural winner of The Hampshire Girls ‘Golf Themed’ BAKE OFF.
The Hampshire Junior Girls committee would also like to award an honourable mention to Stevie Crozier-Hunt for the superb video presentation that accompanied her bake. Congratulations Stevie for thinking outside the box and showing great innovation with your submission.
In case you missed them previously, here are all the fantastic entries again…
